Liberation of Forced Labor Camp near Waldbrol on April 8, 1945

My father was liberated by the 309th Infantry on April 8, 1945 near Waldbrol, Germany. He was one of the two allied soldiers of the 70+ who could still walk. It was a forced labor camp with 70+ allied soldiers held there with other forced labor.

I am hoping there is additional information, maybe from a journal of one of the liberating 309th soldiers or pictures of film taken by the 309th as they liberated my father's camp. Is there any information of this nature available?

You forever have my gratitude for saving/liberating my father. I have life, my children and grandchildren have life because he was liberated. Know I have a beautiful, blessed life because of what your men saved that day.

Mary
