Local accounts of the 310th

We, the Village Community Unnenberg Germany, are currently writing our Village
Chronicles.
At the Moment we are reconstructing the Events of the 1 1th & 12th April 1 945. The
following occurred on the last days of war during the 2. worldwar.
Divisions of the 310. lnfantry Regiments ( 1 & 2 Battalion) advanced from the
Aggertalsperre over Lantenbach to our village Unnenberg.
The fights started around noon and ended in the early evening. Unfortunately with
high losses of lifes on both sides. The village Unnenberg was defended by troops of
the 62nd folk-grenadier division. ln the evening they retreated in the direction of
Dannenberg. On the 12th of April the U.S. troops moved up and continued their
advance.
Maybe you still have reports, recordings or pictures of these days from involved
soldiers, that could help us with our chronicles. We already have the After-Action
Report of the 310. lnfantry Regiment, but unfortunately it is not revealing for our
purposes.
We are looking fonryard to a further cooperation with you and we hope that you can
help us in this matter.
ln Memory of the dead and wounded of these days and the suffering of the survivors
in these dark hours.

Re: Local accounts of the 310th

I'm researching my father's military service. He was with the 310th. Please tell me how you found the after action reports because I've been looking for a long time.

Re: Local accounts of the 310th

I've found the after action report through google.com.
Here's the Link:

It would be very kind, if you could give me some more informations.
Maybe your father remembers something.

Thank you Tim and greetings from Germany
