Re: peterfalk.com

I have to agree, it's a shame not to keep the site running. Even if it wouldn't be updated, it was very nicely done and would have been a fitting tribute to keep Peter's image and personality with us, on into new generations. The webmistress, Francesca Redwine -- a fantastic friend to this site over the years -- did a terrific job with it. She was Peter's longtime assistant, and of course she has moved on to new adventures.

Re: peterfalk.com

Ted, wasn't Francesa, as was Peter of course, an artist too? Sure she was.

Re: peterfalk.com

Rob, Fran definitely has an artist's eye, and has been painted and photographed by many artists, and I believe she is an artist herself. So you're right, that was no doubt something she had in common wit the boss!

Re: peterfalk.com

For those of you who wish to see Fran’s artwork on her facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/francesca.redwine?fref=nf

The Peter Falk site had a real 90’s look, but that was its appeal, it had Peter’s thoughts, his artwork and whatnot and is a shame to see it come to its demise, especially when it wouldn’t cost too much to keep it running, and was real nice of Fran to keep it running for all these years, especially since she wasn't paid to do so.

Some people who know Shera well indicated last year that she had absolutely no interest in spending any money keeping that site running, and in fact Fran and some of Peter’s friends and fans were taking donations to keep it running, and unfortunately that time came to an end.

It would be irresponsible for me to comment, or pass judgement on anyone’s marriage, especially someone who I don’t know intimately, however the Falk’s in LA were well known as the “Fighting Falks” and they were constantly breaking up and then getting back together, that’s well documented.
Anyway, it’s very sad to see another piece of Peter’s history fade away…..

Re: peterfalk.com

Thanks for sharing the insights, Paul. When it comes to Peter and Shera, it's impossible to know all the true dynamics that were at play, so I'll just say: I'm with Fran!

Re: peterfalk.com

Hi Ted,
You’re certainly correct about that, in the end who really knows what goes on behind closed doors.
Last night Fran indicated that she’s trying to get the site up and running, and in fact didn’t know it was taken down until she received an odd offer to sell the site.
So let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope she can get it running!
Kuddos to Fran!

Re: peterfalk.com

The site can be accessed through the Internet "Wayback" machine at archive.org.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160807202613/http://www.peterfalk.com/

This service also allows Martin's Columbo fanfic page to still be accessed in terms of its content.

Re: peterfalk.com

Good point, Eric. Thanks for the reminder about the wayback wonders of archive.org

Re: peterfalk.com

That’s a neat service, I knew nothing about it.
Thank you…. Hopefully Fran will have the original site up and running soon, I know she’s trying.

Sorry about a 6 years old reply, but I was curious about reading that fanfiction, I've seen you mentioned it on some other thread, however the site doesn't work any more, as you also noticed, and even by going to the archive you mentioned, it still doesn't seem to work, would this link be right? It's the one the site redirected to when opening the fanfiction page:

If it's right, do you have any other way to view that?
