Re: Characters That Would Have Made Good Murderers

Fred
I'm referring to various characters in the episode besides the murderer who could potentially be a good killer in their own right. For instance, Bud Clark. He was arrogant and very self-centered. I could see him cast as a murderer.

Beau Williamson would also have made a good killer. At one point I even thought about putting the shrewed Mrs. Danzinger in that class as well.

Who else may fit??
Speaking of Bud Clarke, CAUTION..... was on MeTV last night and at the end of the episode, when Columbo is showing Wade Anders the discrepancy with the surveillance film, a kid walks in with Bud's dog. The kid is wearing a brand of t-shirt called Gotcha and the logo is displayed on the front of the shirt. A kind of subliminal message to Wade.

Re: Characters That Would Have Made Good Murderers

Vincent Price ("Lovely But Lethal")

Leslie Nielsen ("Lady In Waiting". Even though he ultimately is responsible for breaking Beth's alibi I could have seen him participating in the cover-up with Beth and then because of his disenchantment with the "new" Beth ultimately turns)

Mariette Hartley ("Try And Catch Me". She was willing to go along with the cover-up for a price. In fact she is the only case of an after-the-fact "blackmailer" of sorts who gets away at the end since she's fled the country. Abigail in fact mentions this when she says after being caught, "Veronica will flee."

Re: Characters That Would Have Made Good Murderers

Jess McCurdy would have made a great murderer. She already had the tough as nails personality and had an attitude during the whole episode.

But Murder in Malibu episode just didn't do it for me.

Re: Characters That Would Have Made Good Murderers

Ida Lupino appeared in two episodes and was the victim in one of them. She could have been a good cold hearted battleaxe murderess easily

Re: Characters That Would Have Made Good Murderers

I've always been able to imagine Murcheson killing Karl Lessing. Murcheson was madly in love with Viveca, and as far as Viveca was concerned, Karl was almost singlehandedly ruining the business by running off with the formula.

And obviously there's the fact that the formula was HIS.
