Re: columbo traffic lights suggestions?

I like "Columbo Goes to College," also. But I am having trouble figuring out how the gun was hooked up and set off. Do you understand how that was set up?

Cindy -

Columbo demonstrated it in front of the class at the end of the episode. Keep in mind that Justin was a "guru" with video cameras as evidenced by one of the first scenes in the episode. The two idiots steal the gun from Joe Doyle's apartment then they rig it to be fired remotely. One interesting point is there must have been one hell of a strong battery in the remote device to work so far away. This much has always puzzled me how pushing a remote control in class will set off the "locking device" in the car parked in a basement. I suppose we could over analyze the hell out of that part of the question. But to sum up, they hooked up a video camera under the hood of the truck and tied it to a small tv screen. They then hooked up the gun to the locking device which when activated pulled the trigger, firing the shot out of the grill of the truck and striking the professor. For this to work in real life, precision accuracy would be required, almost to the inch.

Hope this helps.

Re: columbo traffic lights suggestions?

These are very interesting and certainly seem to form a pattern. I'll see how many more suggestions come in and then I'll finish my own list and see what you think. Many thanks.

Re: columbo traffic lights suggestions?

It's a different version of a Best/Worst list, so I'll join in...but ultimately, it's all very subjective.

I tried to use the episode guide, but I'm sure I either missed or duplicated some....but this was a fun exercise.

Re: columbo traffic lights suggestions?

Great job Mark - I probably should have made my list like U did.

Re: columbo traffic lights suggestions?

Thanks, Fred...but I think there were a few more of the original series that deserved to be green....but i'm just going to let the list sit as I posted it...

And honestly, other than No Time to Die, I genuinely like all Columbos :)
