Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

Special mention goes to Dexter and Norman Paris for killing their beloved uncle who took such good care of them, as well as his fiancée; Swanee for killing his uncle who had always taken care of him; Harold van Wyck for what he did to his wife; and Senor Montoya for killing a long time loyal employee, only because of his shattered ego.

And my top three to send to the chair are two doctors and a lawyer: Drs. Mayfield and Flemming, and Mrs. Leslie Williams. All three were highly intelligent but ruthless psychopaths who used people and murdered to get what they wanted.

Great topic Lucerne!

Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

I overlooked Roger Stanford. In addition to murdering his uncle and a chauffeur, there is a strong hint that he caused the explosion that killed his parents. Also, Roger heartlessly used Betty Bishop. Finally, those bulging pants had to break a few public ordinances.

Oh Pete you’re on fire. Love the comment on Roger’s pants and on No Time to Die 😂😂.

I agree with the choices of Barry Mayfield and Leslie Williams. My third pick might be Emmet Clayton. Tomlin Dudek was a kind man, and not only did Clayton try to murder him in a very horrific manner, but also tried to have his last act be cowardly in running away from the match, as well as knocking his superior chess abilities down too.

Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

I have always said those two creeps Cooper and Justin from "Columbo Goes to College" are most deserving of life w/o parole. I was so happy to see 'em busted.

As far as the chair, Wesley Corman. Not only for planning such an intense murder but then trying to pin it on his sickly wife. Excuse my french, but whatta *******.

Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

Also, Luis Montoya had every reason to TRUST his friend to keep his secret.

Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

I've said it a dozen times, but Lee Grant causes me to have a real thing for Leslie Williams. So not wanting her to get the chair is only the beginning in my case!
(No offense to Margaret.)

Oh man!
String him up!

Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

Some great answers above. I had forgotten about Dr. Corman (another Dr., albeit a dentist). He was willing to destroy a whole family just so he could keep up the freeloading good life for a while longer. Regarding Emmitt Clayton, I agree that his act was particularly heinous because Dudek was such a lovable guy and wiling to be a good friend.

On the other end of the spectrum, I would pardon Faye Dunaway for what I felt was justifiable homicide to protect her daughter. What choice did she have?

Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

Is "Victims who had it coming" an actual thread? If not, it would be a good one.

I thought so but I may be thinking of sympathetic murderers ( Carsini et. al.) which implies justifiable homicide!

it is an actual thread - mine! from about 3-4 weeks ago.

Re: If all the Columbo murderers were lined up in front of you...

That's nearly my only complaint about this site. I wish it were the kind where the latest thread to be added to becomes the top one on the page.

Columbo (Bert Freed) took out quite a few as Schmidt the hangman, in Hang Em High
