This is sad news. Peter S. Fischer wrote some of the very best episodes of Columbo, in both the NBC and ABC series. He was also one of the co-creators of Murder, She Wrote along with Richard Levinson and William Link.

Excellent writer! But he had a long life, a great career, and his work will endure.
