I came across this story and immediately thought of "Murder Under Glass", the fiendish Paul Girard and his fugu poisoning of dear old Vittorio.
Interestingly, while reading the article (and a few others) it appears it usually takes a bit longer for the poison to take effect. The man in this article was in the hospital for 35 days before dying. However, Girard set up Vittorio to inject the poison directly into the wine, which may cause the poison to act more rapidly???
