Troubled waters drink

Am I the only one who is ALWAYS disturbed by the fast that in one of the last scenes (when Columbo wears his fancy shirt, and they order a drink) Columbo all the time looks like he wants to take a sip but he never does? :D

Re: Troubled waters drink

Of course, the show is very inconsistent about his drinking habits.
Although that might be the only time he actually orders one and doesn't drink it, I'm not sure.

Re: Troubled waters drink

Grant, you're right about the inconsistency about his drinking, What episode was it where Columbo says to a wife of someone I believe, he says "we met at (some party, function) and I'm afraid I was a little drunk"... also I remember him saying I don't drink in another episode

Re: Troubled waters drink

I always thought it was great that you can tell they filmed it on an actual ship (except the hospital and the cabins they’re too small) and they are all running into the walls in the hallway, must have been rough seas

Re: Troubled waters drink

I've noticed that normally when anyone offers Columbo an alcoholic drink he either refuses or he accepts the drink but either only takes a small sip or doesn't drink any of it at all before saying he has to run along or whatever. Something I've noticed in quite a few episodes so it must be intentional. I guess that he doesn't drink too much while on duty as he wants to keep a clear head. Of course there are exceptions too where he does drink more like food and wine related episodes such as "Any Old Port in a Storm" and "Murder Under Glass".

Re: Troubled waters drink

Don't forget THE CONSPIRATORS where Columbo I think does legit drink quite a bit with the Irish murderer.
