Death Lends a Hand

Ok Columbo says later after arresting Kennecott, he knew who did it right away after checking the ring when he was reading the lines in the palms of their hands. Columbo brings him some paperwork and tells Kennecott his whole theory on what happened (which of course is true) and one thing Columbo says is "I bet the killer has quite a hot temper" I love the reaction of Kennecott after Columbo leaves... "oh s*it" Later Kennecott proves he has a hot temper. Then he asks Columbo to work for him... Now that's just the icing on the cake for Columbo, especially when he tells Columbo he would no longer be on the case. I mean I thought Kennecott was intelligent but that was almost an admission of guilt. This is becoming one of the best episodes on my list, it has a lot of great touches, loke the poor guy at the Golf course. First time they meet Columbo play's with his mind, he knows who did it, then later after their second meeting, the look on the guys face when Columbo convinces him he doesn't suspect him, (the lack of a tan line of a ring on his finger) and this being only the second episode, the aforementioned Columbo telling him he knew all along who did it by feeling the ring, etc... sets up the viewer for ***ure episodes on just what makes Columbo tick.

I agree. i have watched it many times and the tie in the soup was not scripted and its classic. I think the fliming was amazing

To me, the golf pro Ken has one of the best mixtures of a serious line and a funny one in any episode, when he tells Columbo how he keeps his job.

I agree. and Peter Falks golf is not to bad too
