'MacGyver' Actor Dana Elcar Dies at 77. He played Falcon in, "Any Port In A Storm".

Oh..how sad. I remember him from McGyver...and I believe at the end of the series he was having a lot of problems with his vision...that he was almost blind.
Well...very sad news.

Cassa, you are right about his blindness.
He died Monday of complications from pneumonia.
Elcar told producers he was going blind after four seasons with "MacGyver," but they simply adapted his character to match his medical condition.

"The fact that you are losing your eyesight does not mean you have forgotten how to act," Elcar, in a speech to the National Federation of the Blind in 1991, recalled producers telling him.

The show ended a year later, when he had become almost completely blind.

Elcar was also in "The Sting." Good guy.

One of the great character actors of the 1960's
and 70's. He had a regular role playing Pappy Boyington's
commanding officer in "Bah Bah Blacksheep".

On the just-released Law & Order: The Third Year set, Elcar plays a man blinded by laser surgery in the episode Virus.
