Re: COLUMBO LOCATIONS HELP

Rob..I'd love to be there but I am not much of a traveler...but if you get some guys from this site to join you ....well..that will be terrific! It sounds really wonderful!

Re: COLUMBO LOCATIONS HELP

Although I left Los Angeles 19 years ago, I recognize many of the locations ( I have listed them before on this site).
For example
(1) "Make Me A Perfect Murder". Columbo has an accident near the beginning. We see him driving on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City (San Fernando Valley). I lived a few blocks from there.
(2) "Identity Crisis"- Columbo meets "the number 1 man" at Travel Town, in Griffith Park, north east of Hollywood.
(3) "Requiem for a Falling Star" - Nora Chandler meets secretly with Jerry Parks (and runs into Columbo and numerous fans) at Sportsman's Lodge, also in Studio City.
(4) "The Conspirators". We see Columbo driving his car on the high Vincent Thomas Bridge which connects the Ports of Los Angeles (San Pedro) and Long Beach.
(5) "The Most Crucial Game" filmed at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in downtown L.A.
Again, since I have been away for a long time, some of the places may have changed their names.
If I think of more, I will post them.

Re: COLUMBO LOCATIONS HELP

Very interesting YM...I don't think I was on this forum when you posted this stuff before. I'd really be interested, as would Rob, in hearing about more.

Re: COLUMBO LOCATIONS HELP

And Cassa, wasn't there an episode filmed in the Hollywood Bowl?

Re: COLUMBO LOCATIONS HELP

I seem to vaguely remember that Paul....but right now the name of the episode escapes me!!

Re: Re: COLUMBO LOCATIONS HELP

Oops, I forgot "Etude in Black" which
was filmed in the Hollywood Bowl.
How could I forget? Thanks, Paul!

Re: COLUMBO LOCATIONS HELP

All good suggestions. And don't forget (assuming that it's possible to drive close enough to see it): the famous "Stahl House", featured in multiple "Columbo" episodes including "Prescription: Murder," "Murder By The Book" and "The Most Cricial Game". See:

If you're willing to drive out of town, a memorable stop would be the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, from "Short Fuse":

And by all means, no Columbo fan's visit to LA is complete without a stop at Barney's Beanery!!!... portrayed literally in "Ransom For A Dead Man" and in fictional form in several later episodes. See:
