I ran across some info on another website about Dick Gautier, the man who played Hymie the Robot on Get Smart. In a brief bio it mentioned that he made guest appearances on many TV shows, one of which was Columbo. I do not recall seeing him in any episodes. I tried the site search on this site and it came back empty. Anyone remember this guy in Columbo?

I remember Dick Gautier and when he played Hymie the Robot on Get Smart...but I don't remember him from any Columbo....he is also not listed in the Index of The Columbo Phile book....don't know..

My guess would be he must have been thinking of an appearence on Banacek, another one of the NBC Mystery Movies. In an episode of that series he guest starred with our very own Arlene Martel from the Greenhouse Jungle & A Friend in Deed.

He also appeared in "The Rockford Files". These programs were all made by Universal Studios so it is rather surprising if he didn't appear in Columbo since the actors with Universal went from one show to the other. I have the episode of Banacek he appears in. He usually plays very slimy characters and he was true to form in that one.

And let's not forget Gregory Sierra, from Barney Miller, listed in the credits for Publish or Perish.

I remember Dick from a 70's show " When Things Were Rotten " not from Columbo..Then again, I need to get more...

Rick was that the one where it was set in the time of Robin Hood?

Yes Casa..WTWR aired for only one year, around 1975-1976 season. I also wanted to say thanks for being very friendly.

Dick Gautier never appeared with Columbo to my knowledge...but his wife did!

Dick was married to Barbara Stuart, who played Claire Fleming (the murder victim) in "Enough Rope", the 1961 TV drama that marked Columbo's first appearance.

Barbara is best remembered as "Miss Bunny", Sgt Carter's girlfirend in "Gomer Pyle, USMC". But before that, she was the very first murder victim to be avenged by Lieutenant Columbo.
