"....All the shocking details!!!"

Relax, folks -- it's just the headline on the cover of the "National Examiner" (the USA supermarket tabloid -- August 15, issue).

The story inside is a re-hash of the incident already described here, about Peter getting bitten in the face by a dog. As Forum regulars will recall, apparently he and his wife were at an animal shelter, looking at a dog for possible adoption, when Peter bent close and was bitten, frighteningly close to his left eye.

The wound took 20 stitches.

See the previous thread, "Peter's bruised face" (try the "search the forum" feature at the top -- search for the word bruised), which includes an ugly photo of the damages, helpfully uploaded to the Forum by Welshdragon. The pictures of his messed-up face were taken the next day, at an awards show.

Anyway, the Examiner runs similar photos -- not quite as ugly as Welshdragon's, actually -- and adds more (alleged) details. But the article, like their headlines ("Peter Falk Beaten Up" on the cover, and "Peter Falk ATTACKED!" inside), strongly implies that the dog-bite story is a fake, to cover-up some other, untold story. Who knows.

They quote Peter as deliberately fueling doubt about what happened, saying "I was bitten by a dog -- and if you believe that one, I'll tell you another one." But his wife backs up the story -- she says that Peter is just embarrassed because, as the owner of countless dogs, he should have known better than to get right in the face of an unfamiliar animal.

According to this story, Peter and Shera are thinking of adopting the dog and naming it "Razor or Slasher".

yup..ted..i posted on that originally and then i came back and told folks that it was a dog bite....and then welshdragon...God love him...posted the picture...and i saw that trash magazine when i went shopping today, and it saying that peter was "beaten up"....and i pointed it out to my son..who i had already told the real story to.....we both laughed...people on line with us thought we were idiots, but we didn't care!!!
