Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

Yes...but I hadn't realized there was much "neat trivia" about the Garden State!!
Just joking...I love Jersey...it gets rapped too much...but it is a great place to live.

Re: Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

Hey, the first TV broadcast originated from Bell Labs in Hanover Township (Whippany).

[I believe it was the original pilot for Columbo – entitled “Like Taking Candy from a Baby”. A very youthful Peter Falk crawled around in a wrinkled diaper with a cigar-shaped pacifier trying to solve the crime.]

Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

You are a nut!!
Why do you know so much about Joisey?

Re: Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

Some people even think parts of Joisey are south of the Mason Dixon Line.

Re: Re: Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

You are quite right -- even though Mason and Dixon didn't survey thru NJ. But judging by the amount of CSA flags I encountered when I lived down yonder that way...

Re: Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

I’ve been called that before…but nobody ever specifies what kind; frankly I’m partial to pistachios.

Why do I know so much about New Jersey? It’s because I don’t have veins, arteries and capillaries – my body is nurished by 80, the GSP and, on & off ramps.

Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

(Hey Peck! )

Hey Pistachio!
That was pretty funny...but you didn't mention Rtes 17, 46, or that scary and smelly NJ Turnpike!

Re: Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

Lets not forget Joisey Tomatoes, and the fading traffic "circles"....

Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

Ahh Joisey 'Matoes..our crowning glory! Whatever happened to that big dispute about it being the state veggie/fruit?? Our tax dollars were being spent "wisely" on that issue!!
And I hat the "circles"...thank heavens they are fading...they are so scary to drive on!

Re: Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

There are 2 sure fire ways to negotiate Joisey traffic circles:

#1-Like a Kamikaze, just keep going, don't stop and you will make it safely, unless someone else is using the Kamikaze tactic.

#2-Like a running back, just pick up your blockers and let them make room for you. This one is a little safer, but takes some fancy "footwork" to get off.

Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

Both ideas scare me to death! No one who is driving on those circles seems to know who has the right of way! It is insanity! And then we wonder why Jersey has such high insurance costs!!

Re: Re: Columbo-Godfather Connection

Thats my point exactly! So if you have a plan when you enter the circle, you will survive the experience. In either case you keep moving, because its harder to hit a moving target.
