I believe number five is from Bye Bye Sky High IQ Murder Case. The murderer was talking to him about how he is surrounded by eccentric bores. That he had to supress his intelligence from even his brothers and in the military so not to make any one jealous. As for comfort I believe Columbo told how he had to work so hard and better than other police men to become a Lieutenant.

A darn good quiz! I recognized the lines, but I couldn't place them with their episodes. I wonder if anyone has done a similar quiz with the murderers?

Leighton....sorry....my mind is in a brain-freeze at the moment.....I know I have heard them all, and I can actually hear Columbo and the murderers speaking these lines...put I just can't place them....(without cheating that is!! but I never cheat on these things.)

Damian and David have no's 2, 3 & 5 correct between them. Well done!

OK - here's a couple of clues. No. 1 is from an epiosde which Peter Falk certainly liked but it had bit of a slating on this board a while back, largely because of it's factual indiscretions.

No. 4 is from one of the best in the series - it won an emmy; it's one of the few Columbo epiosdes to have a singular location and the scenes between Columbo and murderer are fantastic; also, the murderer is unrepentent about his crime.

I'll give you until tomorrow; maybe, I'll do another one then....

I'm almost sure (but not positive) that it was The _____ Jones Show. I remember thinking it was kind of cute that the last name was Jones (as in Davey Jones and his infamous locker!)since Hollister was on his boat at the time. But I don't remember what the first name was.........so I'll just say The David Jones Show...(in honor of you David!! )
