Due to the considerable pressure put upon me....here's another:
#1 (Columbo): "...Maybe you can help me....There must something wrong with me. I seem to bother people. I seem to make them nervous and maybe you could tell me why..."
#2 (Columbo): "...Even with some of the murderers that I meet, I even like them too. Sometimes like them and even respect them. Not for what they did, certainly not for that. But for that part of them which is intelligent or funny or just nice. Because there's niceness in everyone. A little bit anyhow. You can take a cop's word for it."
#3 (Columbo): "... there are a lot of crackpots in the world and there's just no accounting for people's reactions. I mean sometimes I even wonder about my wife. Not that she's a crackpot."
#4 (Columbo): "..I've got this funny habit. You know, when a person does something one way and then he suddenly does something another way I immediately think...I'm sure it doesn't mean anything."
I want them all Leighton!!! But I will only do one right now.
#2 is from Try and Catch Me.............it is when Columbo makes his speech at the luncheon. And as he is saying his words he looks at Abigail Mitchell....and it is such a wonderful scene.
Appropriately, Number 1 is from Prescription: Murder, when Columbo seeks Fleming's professional advice. The same scene includes the great moment where Columbo admits he could listen to someone talk about him for hours.
