I thought Columbo called from the bar where he was watching the TV report regarding Rick's death. In fact Michael Lally was tending bar that night!

Well you are right but what the prior thread is implying is that Columbo was in the winery when he called; in fact I remember that scene although I haven't seen it in awhile.

he actually made 2 calls..one from the bar and then one from the winery.
