I generally don't like the stories with women
murderers, notable exceptions being Leslie Williams
in "Ransom for a Dead Man" and Kay Freestone
in "Make Me a Perfect Murder".
I suppose it is proper that most of the killers should be male to parallel real life. As for the female villains, "Ransom For a Dead Man" and "Rest in Peace, Mrs. Columbo" are both on my list of top-10 episodes, with "Lady in Waiting" not far behind.
Perhaps the following "Columbo" guest stars would have made a decent murderess if given the chance...
Anne Francis
Blythe Danner
Mariette Hartley
Trisha Noble
Rue McClanahan
Rue McClanahan- ha that is funny - she would have killed someone and then tried desperately to "pick-up" on Columbo the whole rest of the episode, and he would have loved it.

she is not much of a favourite here, as well as the episode itself...buy i thought she was just terrific...a very different and complex character.
