Most arrogant; The Commish in "Fiend in Deed."

It was "FRIEND" - not fiend - in Deed.

But he was a real fiend.

jarvis goodland from greenhouse jungle was pretty darn arrogant..and quite rude too!

Sean Brantley was the most arrogant, he shouted on Columbo first time he saw him.

Richard Kiley in Friend in deed sure was arrogant as was Ray Miland in Greenhouse.

I think Yento also focuses on a very, very highlighted arrogant scene.

For me, the miltary characters Rumford and Braile in Dawn's Light and Grand Deceptions were both arrogant to the corps. (yes, pun intended !)

Well what about Bill Shatner as Ward Fowler in Fade into Murder- he is always arrogant (of course that is also part of his charm) but he doesn't think he will be caught - most of the characters are pretty arrogant in the fact that they don't think they will be caught - and then some are just plain rude.

Arrogant? How about those 2 punk kids from "College". Man I wanted them busted for life plus 20 apiece. And Justin Rowe's smug remarks as he was being carted off at the end.

Milo Janus and Dr. Mayfield also top the list.

I vote for Ransom for a Dead Man. Leslie was a total b-i-t-c-h. Self-serving, arrogant, and generally F'd up. Cared only about money and herself. Really did a number on her step-daughter, although in the end, the step-daughter prevailed.

The most arrogant is difficult to choose. Bart Kepple of "Double Exposure" is up there, especially how he toys with Columbo after being informed of the second murder and in that interesting scene on the golf course.

Have to agree with Leslie Williams in "Ransom
for a Dead Man"---a seductive, yet poisonous
character. Her husband gives up his career
as a State Supreme Court Justice, sets her up
in a flourishing law practice and a beautiful
house in Beverly Hills. With all that, she tells
him to take a hike, YET even after that (and
his threat expressed to his daugther to break
relations with Leslie) he still maintains
a civil relationship with her. His reward is
to be murdered without a hint of remorse on her
part. One thing that surprises me is that she
did rub out the stepdaughter when she started
harassing her.
