places in columbo

this is à message from comlumbo french site

J'ai écris à ce sujet ce 29 juin exactement à Francesca Redwine (webmaster) de www.peterfalk.com et voici sur qu'elle m'a répondu :

Hello, the best site for Columbo information is http://www.columbo-site.freeuk.com/,
I know nothing of filming locations and when I asked Peter, he said "Tell him lots of places." Hopefully you'll find more specific information on the website mentioned.

Thank you for your email, perhaps you are the garçon urbain de vache?

Re: places in columbo

Perhaps I am the urban boy of cow??

Sorry, I am kidding with you. I am, like Columbo himself, a francophile.

Perhaps we will get an answer from one of the several fans here who live in or near Los Angeles, and who are most familiar with the places where "Columbo" was filmed.

Clearly, such places include:

Barney's Beanery, in West Hollywood ("Ransom For A Dead Man," etc -- see the article in the Scrapbook area of this site, called "Columbo's Chili Habit")

"Train Town" in Griffith Park

The Hollywood Bowl ("Etude In Black")

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway ("Short Fuse")

---

For anyone who has not recently visited Peter's own web site, hosted by the great Francesca Redwine, please check it out soon --

The photos section has been greatly enhanced, and shows a lot of images that are hew to all Peter Falk and "Columbo" fans.

Re: places in columbo

Oh, and how could I forget the famous "Stahl House" at 1636 Woods Drive in the Hollywood Hills -- which appeared in at least 3 "Columbo" episodes.
