Sadly, he died the same year!

I am talking about the actor, Laurence Harvey who played the chessplayer with the cold personality in "The Most Dangerous Match". The show was aired in march 1973 and he died of cancer in november 1973. He must have been sick while filming the show.

Another sad caracter is Miss La Sanka (Barbara Colby) in "Murder by the book" who not only was murdered in the film, but also in real life, 1975.

Re: Sadly, he died the same year!

Yeah, these facts have been mentioned here as many times as in every way, but you might have noticed how skeletal Harvey was in the episode. I mean, he's always been a "thin man", but he was emaciated.

Re: Sadly, he died the same year!

Barbara Colby and fellow actor James Kiernan were walking to their parked car after teaching an acting class in Los Angeles, when they were gunned down by two men for no apparent reason. The killers were never caught, and the crime remains unsolved.

Tragic.
