4. mark mcandrews's (laurence luckinbill's) mouth is very sexy
5. gene barry
among the females, i have to agree that gretchen corbett was very hot. and if i were a guy i probably also would have been taken hook, line, and sinker by leslie williams.
Julie Newmar (Double Shock). She's had a varied career, and I'm sure a lot of guys liked her best as Catwoman. But personally, as a lifelong cartoon buff, I best remember her as Stupefyin' Jones in the "Li'l Abner" movie.
In a very different way, Molly Hagen (Butterfly in Shades of Grey) is a cutie.
And I always liked Jamie Rose (Death Hits the Jackpot).
For a long time, I've toyed with the idea of adding a "Columbo Vamps, Tramps, Mistresses and Bimbos" section to the Scrapbook, but the title sounds more hostile than I would intend it -- it would be an affectionate look at how these "classic" crime story characters have added to "Columbo" over the years.
since there are more guys as members of this forum rather than gals i chime in with a few more hot guys...
patrick mcgoohan
richard kiley (now there's a good looking man! )
oskar werner
sal mineo
john payne as ned diamond for his sheer suaveness and for the way he loved grace wheeler.
and of course peter!
ted i think that sounds like a great idea. i don't really think the title sounds hostile or offensive. i think it would be cool.
Definately Gretchen Corbett!!! When she answers the door in the bikini and Columbo says "I'm looking for uhm...uh...a Milo Janus"
Also, Joanna Cameron in Negative Reaction. When she is walking away at the funeral, Columbo and Paul Galesko are both checking her out.
others:
Anjanette Comer "Etude in black"
Valerie Harper "The Most Crucial Game"
Joanne Linville "Candidate for Crime"
Lesley Ann Warren "A Deadly State of Mind"
Shera Danese "Murder Under Glass"
Bad of me to have forgotten Joanna Cameron, but that comes from the bigger impression she made on me when she played Isis on the Saturday morning show she did. :)
Cassa, You and I already know we've been down this road before
The list of Columbo Babes is endless. A few names I didn't see mentioned or missed them are:
Arlene Martel
Patricia Crowley
The Girlfriend in Candidate for Crime
Of course Mrs. Cassavettes
Trish Van Devere (one of my personal favorites)
Deidre Hall (who happens to look like Mrs. Rex.....Oh and every other women who appeared in Columbo Cries Wolf)
Popee Bogar? (the singer in Troubled Waters)
The girl in the Gallery in Playback
....In another Decade Ruth Gordan is going to be looking pretty good
Jamie Lee Curtis
Honor Blackman
Janis Paige & the "Next Ex" in blueprint for murder
Janet wasn't resting on past glory when she made my list. She looked absolutely breathtaking in that white gown she wears in the opening scene of "Forgotten Lady."
oh eric, you are so right! and breathtaking is exactly the word for it!
that beautiful, china doll face, and gorgeous figure in that white dress is so very stunning! the image of her in that dress is the epitome of a true (classy!) columbo babe!
I thought it appropriate that in the scene, Grace Wheeler says she's planning on doing a revival of "One Touch Of Venus", because that gown gave her a certain Grecian goddess kind of look.
At any rate though, my memory black-out on Joanna Cameron requires my inserting her to #5 on my list and knocking Katherine Justice down to #6. :)
Someone said that there are fewer women than men on these boards, but I'm surprised none of them have mentioned George Hamilton. I've mentioned these two in the other place, but there's Nita Talbot in "Stitch in Crime." Long before Fran Drescher for instance, she nearly perfected the funny-but-hot Jewish girl character (if that isn't too much of a label) in comedies. In the scene where she's showing Columbo the folk remedy for sneezing, and it starts working, the smile on her face is really adorable. And of course, her voice. And, in an uncredited part in "Murder By The Book", Anitra Ford, the Price Is Right model and "B-movie" actress (though I don't use that phrase "B-movie" in a negative way). With her sort of - I can only call it a "b--chy" look (though not in that particular scene) - she could've played an actual killer on the show (which she did, in at least one horror film).
