Really enjoyed watching lovely but lethal again today, with the scrummy, young martin sheen and fab vincent price. Liked vera miles 'slow walk' on the running machine and thought columbo was great at harrassing her. all good
Vera Miles has never struck me as being an effective Columbo killer. Someone with a more ruthless edge like a Joan Collins would have been better in this role IMO.
I do enjoy seeing Martin Sheen get his, though. :)
As I said elsewhere, that might be true, but Vera Miles is actually VERY believable as a muderess in a famous Outer Limits episode, "The Forms of Things Unknown." (It'a variation of the famous suspense story "Diabolique.") Anyone here who hasn't, might want to see it if they can.
I think it's an ok episode, but I don't think the Miles character is conniving and evil enough. She's just sort of being led around by circumstances, rather than executing a diabolical master plan, like the really evil Columbo villians that you love to hate.
I like it too ... the only aspects of this episode that keep it at the bottom of my list are the polyester fashions, the unflattering wig on Vera Miles' head, and of course, Sian Allen.
Like the "lovely touches." The fake beauty mark, the pants suits, giving her security guard the peck on the cheek, and that shocking pink board room. Yow!
