If the Nats are really trying to be a long term WS contender, why have they not tried to upgrade 2B better than Yunel Escobar? Additionally, next year, assumming Desmond really walks and the SD PTBNL is still a year or 2 away from the Show, they also have a whole at SS.

They have never liked the International FA market for some reason, but you would think they would at least be mentioned as looking into Moncada, Olivera or Ibenez. Hey for them it would be just a dollar penalty because a 2 year ban on signing International FA would be business as normal. They have the richest owner in MLB who is 89.
