Anyone remember a player that just mashed from day 1 better than Pujols?

Jose Abreu is the only one that comes to mind; whether he will be able to keep it up time will tell.

I was wondering if I would hear a Mike Trout. Not many remember that he played 40 games and batted about .220 the year before he became a monster.

How about Mark McGwire? It bums me out that people only remember him chasing Ruth's record with Bonds and Sosa and forget that he was by far the best rookie home run hitter the league had ever seen. In 1987 as a rookie he hit .289 with 118 RBI's and 49 bombs. And he had a chance at 50 but sat out the last two games for his first child's birth.
