Hum ... are NYY clearing way to trade for Manny Machado or is this a salary dump to continue to try to get under luxury tax? They have Torres to play one infield opening cheaply but who plays the other?

Maybe they are planning to try a new 4 OF and 3 IF setup with a shift on every batter. After all since they brought in Stanton they seen to have an extra OF.

Another thought is they could play Ellsbury is the infield and hope he gets hurt so they can collect on insurance and open up his roster spot!

A salary dump for the Yankees, can't see any use for Blash in their crowded outfield. You may be right about Machado, I've also been reading about how much they like Miguel Andujar.

Machado would definitely be a better fit at this point for NYY than Harper......................even though Harper might be a 60-homer guy with a healthy season and that short porch in RF.

Did you see that Baltimore is making part of any Machado deal the new team can not trade him in 2018 to NYY. Baltimore must be dreaming about competing even though the main reason to trade Machado is because they can't compete in 2018. Go figure.
