Sometimes a big contract just hurts to watch. Pujols was one of my favorite players and is a lock for HOF but he needs to negotiate an out for the rest of his contract for both his and the Angels benefit. He has 4 years and almost $120M left on his contract but last year he hit a slash 241/286/386 and lead majors GDP. He had -15 RAR offense and -1.8 WAR. It is not likely to get better a year older and with Othani scheduled to be DH twice a week.

How can Angles dream about being a competitor even with the underpaid Trout and Othani with that kind of output from their $30M/year DH/1B?

PS: I just noticed an interesting fact. For 1st ten years Pujols never hit under 312. For the 7 years since he has never hit 300.
