It's my understanding the Nats were over the Luxury "cap" last year and are about $4M over still even after getting Werth off the books The only clear dead weigh is the $10M they are stuck paying Wieters. That contract was an all-time F-up to help Boras. Now, even if they could trade him no one would take him without a huge pay down that would count against the cap.
The only real "sell high" candidate IMO is Zimmerman. He makes $14M but he has been the face of the team since they came to DC and with Harper possibly gone next year its hard to see them even floating his name much less trading him.
