Pitch clock yuck

IMO the last thing baseball needs is a pitch clock. About 250 pitches are made in an average game. If you cut a second per pitch that save a whole 4 minutes and one complaint would eat that savings.

IMO it would be much better to limit number of RP switches. Also not letting manager waste time with arguing. Finally cutting challenges to one lose per week. That would stop challenges wasting time on all but the most obvious and critical situations.

Thoughts?

Re: Pitch clock yuck

I went to a minor league game in Tacoma a couple years back and they had a pitch clock and, to be honest, things went very smoothly. It was totally unobtrusive. I also think there's a difference between pace of play (keeping the action moving) and length of games. They could really cut back on the length of games by limiting the time between innings............but they're too busy selling beer and whatever else they're advertising between innings in order to pay player salaries.
