From A-Z, magical creatures abound. This forum might be a great place to learn about them. I thought I'd summarize one daily from 'The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures' (feel free to join in).

A Bao A Qu
Originating in the Malay Peninsula, this creature is described as having many tentacles and a soft smooth skin. It is bound to the Tower of Victory in Chitor where it awaits unwary pilgrims that climb the tower in search of enlightenment. It draws to life force from the unsuspecting victim as he/she climbs. The A Bao A Qu is bound to the tower until a truly enlightened seeker is able to climb to the top.
