From A-Z, magical creatures abound. This forum might be a great place to learn about them. I thought I'd summarize one daily from 'The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures' (feel free to join in or comment).

Gaasyendietha
A type of fire-breathing dragon from the mythology of the Seneca people of the north-western coast of North America. The appearance of a meteor in the sky is said to represent the passing overhead of this creature, which is of enormous size. However, despite its fiery qualities, the Gaasyendietha lives in rivers and lakes.
