Once there was a goblin skald
Who’s eyes gleamed golden fire
To modern verse his skills were called
From rhyme he did retire.

Fables, epics, histories
Romances and the ballad
Battles, legends, mysteries
He felt his art grow pallid.

He came upon some Cubist verse
His fangs glowed with delight
He felt his goblin soul traverse
The void…artistic blight.

The simple form made impression
He knew that he could find
Economical expression
By words not be confined

Twelve perfect words to tell it all
A spiritual endeavor
With minimalism he would scrawl
Tales to last forever

Aêlst finished his first masterpiece
A poem beyond compare
The goblins asked him please to cease
For the style they did not care

But, when you read, you’ll understand
You should cry tears of joy
Indulge and let your mind expand
