Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

fan base

How do we increase our fan base?

Are the club working on this key factor. Remember when God was manager he was always on about this in the paper. I think that we often let juniors in for free ? during his time in charge. Is that correct ?

Opinions please

Re: fan base

Got to try and instill some kind of pride in the club in the local community.

Saturday's game showed that the passion is there for the big occasion. If we could only get 10% of these punters back in regularly, what a difference that would make.

Kids for a pound was a brilliant idea suggested earlier.

A working party to do some research on what would make people come to Bayview could throw up some interesting ideas.

Re: fan base

what about a ladies day/bring yer missus day, say round about feb 14th. They get a rose, or something...
Cheerleaders. Works well for the Aucland Blues in the super 14's here (even a show on sky about them, hubba, hubba!)
Free tickets for scouts, army cadets etc, once a year. Doesn't have to be all at once, pick a group from either up the coast/Levenmouth/Glenrothes and ask how many they would like?
A father and son gate, when kids for a pound aint on. Lets face it, there's loads of people that think 10/5 quid is far too much. An unemployment gate as well would go a long way. (after all, I will officially be unemployed, when I return in September lol!)

Loads of ideas...

Re: fan base

If I could change 3 things at the Club, it would be to have an under 17s team to try and link up with some of the things that the Junior Supporters Club are doing. Then build a terraced enclosure and most importantly, get more folk coming along to see their local team.

Some of the ideas, on this thread, are good already. It's not just about what incentives the Club can up with though, it should also be about what the fans can do as well.

As I said in a previous thread, if there were a few more people interested, it would definately be worth getting together one evening soon. Who knows, we might even get something done in time for the new season!
