Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: next seasons squad.

Glad your no the manager, Cod help us!

Re: next seasons squad.

Jamie McGowan is staying,

Re: next seasons squad.

Courts is a good player, if he can get his discipline sorted. Walker is a handy winger.

Re: next seasons squad.

How many center halves do we need??

Re: next seasons squad.

looking at the squad thats left for next season,i still think we need to add-a keeper,2 midfielders and 2 strikers.

mcewan-keeper
ovenstone(a good squad player)
john paul mcbride-midfield
oreilly(hopefully)
buchanan(cowden-there was rumour we were offering him an amazing part time deal).

Re: next seasons squad.

2 of them are very close to signing.

Re: next seasons squad.

we seem to have freed players from the west and it makes sense to try and bring in fife-based players.
in this case why dont we go for kevin byers and paul shields who played for ayr at the end of the season but was a postie in burntisland a few years ago.
ps.ayr also have a gareth wardlaw who they signed from the shipyard-how did we miss that.

Re: next seasons squad.

hopefully the 2 signing will be oreilly and buchanan to play upfront together.

Re: next seasons squad.

Is the 2 we are signing not John and Paul McBride??

Re: next seasons squad.

Glad McGowan's staying. Him and Smart had an excellent defensive partnership.

We really have to build a squad that's going to be there for more than one season at a time though otherwise we're going nowhere.

Re: next seasons squad.

Can't complain at having plenty options, but surely Smart, McDonald, Tweed, possibly Courts and McGowan will all be expecting to play?

3 Center backs could work, if we used wing backs, but thats hardly an apt description of Fotheringham (who will also expect to play)
