Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

play off format

Any else find it a bit strange that the final of the play offs is a two legged affair.

It may be better to have had a one off final on a neutral venue. This would ensure an even bigger support for both teams involved as long as it was played on the saturday. It would also save supporters having to shell out the dosh twice in such a short period of time.

(plus we wouldn't have been on the end of a 7-2 agg hammering..!!!)

Re: play off format

Hopefully we'll miss out on them next year, there is a much easier way to go up...

Re: play off format

Mellie - I agree it would be a lot better having the final as one game and at a neutral venue although that has to be one of suitable size to hold 2nd and 3rd division play-offs, small enough I mean not too big

Although Im not sure what you mean by this statement??

Did you not go to the 1st leg at Firhill? it could have been that score and more

Re: play off format

Even if the final was at Hampden it'd still have favoured QP

Re: play off format

The English play off system makes for way more excitement. A one off final at a neutral venue, midway to both clubs if possible, would be tremendous viewing.

Only if both teams turn up on the day of course
