Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

PRE-SEASON TOUR AND NEW SIGNINGS PENDING

TWO more players could be signing for East Fife by the end of the week as the Methil men look to strengthen for a title push next season.

The club's vice-chairman Sid Collumbine confirmed the club was close to thrashing out deals for two new recruits while a third player was also being chased.
He said: "We are hoping to have another two players that we are interested in and we are actively trying to tie up a deal for another one.

"The two we hope to sign this week are a goalkeeper and a left winger."

Manager Dave Baikie has already strengthened in preparation for next season with the signings of former Livingston defender Steven Tweed, former East Stirlingshire captain and central midfielder Paul Stewart, left winger Kevin Fotheringham and right back Graham Guy.

Mr Collumbine is pleased with the progress made by the club since he joined.

He said: "We have come a long way in the six months since I've been here, both on and off the field.
"We will try to progress further and I am confident we will get it right next season.

"The players we have brought in are experienced and should take us further."

Meanwhile, East Fife have already arranged a pre-season tour to Lancashire and the Lake District.
The team will be based at Lancaster University and will play Trimpell FC in Morecambe on Friday, July 20 and then Kendal Town the following day.

Trimpell SSC FC are an amateur side who play in Division One of the Aegon West Lancashire Football League.

Last season, Kendal Town achieved promotion for the first time in their history and currently play in the Unibond Premier Division.
