Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

O’Reilly set for Methil
EAST FIFE are expected to complete a permanent deal for on-loan Dundee striker Craig O’Reilly within the next 24 hours—while two other new faces have also signed on at New Bayview.

The move for O’Reilly will be seen as a major coup for the Methil club as many fans had been resigned to seeing the striker leave to play at a higher level in the summer.

It is understood that O’Reilly has verbally agreed a contract which he is expected to sign tonight.

The 19-year-old was hugely instrumental in helping the Fifers reach last season’s play-off final, scoring 19 times, and boss Dave Baikie will no doubt be hoping O’Reilly’s goals can turn his side into genuine title contenders in the coming season.

Veteran goalkeeper Paul Mathers has joined after quitting second division champions Morton earlier this month, while Peterhead midfielder Dougie Cameron has also signed.

The Fifers are also pursuing their interest in Peterhead midfielder Chris Hegarty as a possible replacement for Neil Jablonski, who left for Australia at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the club have scotched reports that Raith target Paul McManus has already signed for them on a three-year deal.

East Fife are still favourites to capture the striker’s signature in the next few days, but the club have been forced to await an official decision by the SFL on the player’s registration before making a move.
