Re: Crawford's got the job

Speaking as someone with
I'm surprised at the support for Stevie from fans who didn't think much of him as an East Fife player.

To be fair though, that was only about 2 fans who didn't support him as a player (same people using different names!!).

Re: Crawford's got the job

Best of luck Stevie, ignore some of the moaning bastards who won't even give you half a chance. The vast majority of fans will get behind you and the team.

Re: Crawford's got the job

John Robertson ??? No thank you. Never wanted him. Wasn't exactly over the moon when Craw signed as I thought it was an unnecessary/luxury siging, especially when he was played deep in midfield. Never knew we'd get a manager out of it down the line though.

Best of luck Craw and Crabbo. Hopefully the fact that they're permanent will settle the players and the management team with some key players wanting to re-sign.

International player who's played at a high, full-time level. I wouldn't doubt what was said on here about the morale and training. The last manager, through no fault of his own, did not have experience of training etc at a higher level to pass down and you could clearly see it.

Hope we get a good crowd on Saturday to show some vocal support for Craw and his players.

A new chapter begins....

Re: Crawford's got the job

Have to say I'm not overly enthralled about his appointment but it could of been worse. I like the fact that he uses a combination of youth and experience. I would've liked someone with more experience, but i suppose every good manager starts somewhere.

Re: Crawford's got the job

We could've had Fairley and McGonigal.

Shudder.

Baikie all over again.

Re: Crawford's got the job

Happy with that and hope he does a good job.Good luck to him.

Re: Crawford's got the job

goood - now we can get working on some songs.

"interim manager's ..... barmy army" didn't quite flow

Both Dan & Westie will be part of the coaching set up along with one other still to be confirmed. Training will be a lively place with these guys in charge for sure.
Feck I sounded like Graeme Souness there!!

Someone else who has been brought in is Gordon Forrest, who is an SFA Youth Development Officer.

I rated him when he played for us, he's been involved with SFA community coaching for a few years now I think.

Re: Crawford's got the job

Glad the board have taken a gamble with Stevie & Scott Crabbe.
Might now see some flair with attacking football encouraged & youth given a chance.
Hopefully they'll also have a good network of contacts and maybe get some SPL hopefuls on loan.

Re: Crawford's got the job

As an East Fife fan i would like to wish Stevie Crawford and Scott Crabbe all the very best.

Which Gordon Forrest???

Re: Crawford's got the job

Gordon Forrest used to play for us a few years back, ended his playing career with Berwick about 3 years ago. Gordon has recently been involved with coaching and SFA youth development throughout Fife and has been instrumental in the success of FFDL.

Having witnessed his coaching methods I'm sure Gordons influence will bring a much needed structure to the East Fife coaching schedules.
