Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Back In The Day

I remember away games from the 60's. Trips to Stranraer and Dumfries the bus would leave Parkhill at about 9 a.m. We would not get back until 11 at night or so. Trip to Stranraer cost 30 bob including meals there and back at a hotel in Girvan. On the way back the bus would stop at Denny Loanhead or Edinburgh for a couple of pints. Usually Pubs shut at 10 p.m. in these days.
Memorable trip was cup game at Motherwell in 1967. It would have been the result of the round except for a certain match that took place in England.
Happy days.

Re: Back In The Day

Remember it well Bob. Was at Dumfries when We won 3-2. Alan Ball in goals for Qos. We scored a late winner, Bertie Miller i think.

Was at Motherwell that day your talking about. Had my Miners Hard hat on. Peter McCloy in goal for well, andy waddell cut back for Gardiner to poke home. Singing down the street back to the bus. Didn't get the credit we deserved as wee rangers beat big rangers same day. lost 4-1 to Clyde in the next round. Harry Hood playing for clyde before going to Celtic.
