Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

If you relied on the official site for news on players you'd probably be the last to know.

East Fife vs Albion Rovers FC preview - McCormack banned for Fifers

I have a say

Posted Tuesday, January 24, 2012 by PA

New defensive signing Darren McCormack will miss East Fife's clash with Albion through suspension following his dismissal at Stirling on Saturday.

David Muir could come as a replacement if he shakes off a back injury and the Fifers manager John Robertson has a major doubt over striker Ryan Wallace.

Robertson knows that a win for his side will start talk of a play-off place again, saying: "We have been playing well in our last couple of games and a win in this one can move us right to the fringes of the play-offs.

"Win this one and we have a great platform, but it will not be easy as Albion will be sore after losing heavily on Saturday and be out to make up for that."

Albion are searching for their first win in five games, with manager Paul Martin on the look-out for an on-loan defender to bolster his rearguard after Saturday's 6-1 defeat at Arbroath.

Left-back Barry Russell remains out with a hamstring injury, with Martin saying: "It was a sore one at Gayfield but we have to look to get going again at East Fife.

"I will have to alter things around in defence but our midfield played well and the strikers will get another chance to take their chances.

"East Fife have been inconsistent this season but they beat us 3-0 at our place. A bit like the Arbroath game, they punished us with lethal finishing after we made mistakes in defence."

Re: Injuries

Wallace has allegedly failed a fitness test and Hissy won't be there due to a family bereavement, so down tot the bare bones up front. Dalziel and McQuade looks the likely pairing but both are struggling for match fitness. A trialist or loanee maybe ? A win tonight with both of them scoring would be great for confidence. Cmon the Fife !
