Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

East Fife 3-0 at half time

Re: Latest Score

The SFL site quoted a pen miss by Sloan after 11 minutes, also mentioned on the Beeb. Then after about 20 odd minutes, they changed the text on SFL to read , a scored pen after 11 minutes, missed pen after 12 minutes and the 2nd goal after 14 minutes.

Re: Latest Score

Final 4-0

Re: Latest Score

Today's scorers

R. Sloan 15 Mins.

S. Hislop 36 Mins.

R. Wallace 70 mins.

Wallace & Cook got yellow cards

Re: Latest Score

Cracking win.

So did we miss a penalty as well then?

Re: Latest Score

There was no missed penally. Great three points in difficult conditions. We've played a lot better and lost so it was a pleasing three points. Hopefully we can get another win against our bogey team Dumbarton on Tuesday evening and follow it up with another win against Airdrie. Winning the next two would get us right in the play off mix.

Re: Latest Score

One of our poorest performances of the season yet we win 4-0! This league is crazy. Forfar were simply awful!
Ryan Wallace will no doubt claim the 4th goal but I think it was an pwn goal!
Next two games are huge!

Re: Latest Score

That's a wee bit harsh, the wind made football difficult for both teams.
we took our chances well and stll afforded to miss a few decent chances.
Forfar actually played a bit better against the wind.
Defence and Brown coped well and Sanny didn't get a sniff.

Re: Latest Score

"One of our poorest performances" What game were you watching.I thought we controlled the game and took our chances.Scoring 4 goals and not conceding any is not that bad.

Re: Latest Score

Not harsh at all! We didn't play well in my opinion. We played far far better at Stenny & lost the game.
Make no mistake Forfar were rank rotten.
Great 3 points & I'll take that before a good performance any day.
I'll take another two poor performances & 6 points in the next 7 days thank you very much.

Re: Latest Score

Was delighted to win 4-0 as I have seen us playing better and losing on loads of occassions. In saying that we could have had 7 with the 3 one on ones with the keeper. Great to pick up the 3 points though and a good run would set us up for the play off positions.

Still holding out for that East Fife Five Forfar Four result

Re: Latest Score

Think Campbell and White are starting to form a good partnership which is contributing to our recent improved goals against tally.Michael Brown did well in difficult conditions.
a strange match which we won easily without the team playing its' best.We got our goals very easily and could have scored more.
Forfar playing Byers,Sellars and Templeman in midfield wwere asking for trouble.

Re: Latest Score

I overheard a whispered conversation between two people who have access to the marble halls at Bayview discussing the buying of Kevin Byers.

Whilst not playing scintillating football (hardly surprising given the conditions)we won all the big battles out there. Muir v Templeman, Campbell v Fotheringham and Hislop v Shaughnessy. Young Scott Durie had his work cut out against Nicky Low but managed to contain him while Robert Sloan produced an incisive performance, having a hand in all four goals. Don't forget Michael Brown's faultless positioning and handling throughout the game.
Credit where credit is due if you don't mind.
