Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Airdrie & Fancy Dress

Our second last game is away to Airdrie I have been in contact with Greengairs Bowling Club,They are 10 mins away from Airdrie's Stadium, their prices are reasonable and snacks can be provided on request,I thought I would let everyone know as Airdrie's club bar prices are bit expensive,ie £1.50 for a tin of Irn Bru,it is usually our fancy dress day the last away game of the season,I think it is a good idea but should we not have a fancy dress game at a home game.We have not had a home game for a few seasos now it would be good to have a colourful day at home for a change,Fire Away

Re: Airdrie & Fancy Dress

Fancy dress at Airdrie last season didn't have the same feel to it as it did on previous occasions at Arbroath and Montrose. Think the Airdrie stewards and the atmosphere-less almost empty 10,000 seat stadium may have been contributory factors!
I would be all for a fancy dress home game rather than a repeat of last season.
(Not that I'd be able to take part in any case - don't think it would be proper for me to sit behind the goal dressed as a tart with fishnet stockings etc. Probably distract the players and the ref would probably send me off!!)

Re: Airdrie & Fancy Dress

Jim Corstorphine in fishnets....seems like the chant thats sung to him is true.

....amongst a whole host of other things that will finally be updated over the summer.

Gof, any chance of digging out and putting up a few comic strips and articles from the AFTN fanzine archive?

Had a look through my old man's programme collection and there's only one issue of "AFTN" that has survived.

Cheers!

Re: Airdrie & Fancy Dress

Oooooooooooooooh, get you! If I want to wear fishnets, then I shall, duckie!

Re: Airdrie & Fancy Dress

Can someone send me pictures for the site this year?

Never got any last couple of times and want to update section, amongst a whole host of other things that will finally be updated over the summer.

Had hoped to come over for the end of the season and playoffs but not going to happen.

Maybe over for Nov or Dec again though, depending on Whitecaps playoff run!

I introduced an end of season fancy dress to the Whitecaps last season, so it will now be a regular there at the last home game of the season.

Re: Airdrie & Fancy Dress

Is anyone decided what they are doing for the fancy dress is it gong to be home or away,--------------------------------
