Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

New Strip Next Year ??????

EAST Fife are to launch a new away strip for next season that is sure to bring instant comparisons with Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie striding down a fairway.

The Second Division side are to wear a blue jersey adorned with white crosses that looks like a match for the Blue and White Saltire jumper that Monty first wore as he competed for the Scottish Open title back in 1992.

A club spokesperson said, “We would like to have the new away tops available for fans before the start of next season.”

I read this in today,s online Scotsman Monday March
26, any truth to this ??????.

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

Pics on official website. It`s different, thats all i`m saying.

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

And it's blue and that is just plain wrong.

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

and if it sells and brings in money for the club is this also wrong?? NO....give it a chance

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

Is it the away strip? Is it the 3rd strip?

I say we should use this seasons away strip as next years home strip! We've worn red before for a home strip, as well as blue, green and white, yellow....

Start the argument!

People seemed to think it was a 3rd strip but the official site said the away strip.

Below is an image of the new away top for season 2012-13. The Club hopes to have them in time for the start of next season. Anyone who wishes to make an advance order should contact the Club with their details.

The article on the official site actually mentions the strip as "3rd strip for 2012-2013" and "new away top for season 2012-13"

Well that would just be a cynical marketing ploy if that is the case. I dare say if we added on a few bells and whistles and it came with a free minature of malt it would sell a few more too. Doesn't make it right for an East Fife strip though does it?

I still like Tam's idea - tartan shorts.
Free miniature of malt is also a nice touch Hugo.
Would really need to come with a sporran.

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

Well having seen the top in the window of the club shop this morning, I think it's a cracker. Just the right shade of blue, if anything a bit lighter than Cowdenbeath and nothing at all like the Rovers.

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

Would love this but gold with black stripes (obviously) and white shorts, black socks. Would pay homage to our best strip (60's pinstripe).

That would be a CRACKIN strip mate , Puma make a good quality shirt , one of the best ever imo . can you tell the club about this ?

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

Much as I hate both of them, the Old Firm have shown the way with their retro strips for next season.
As St Pauli Fifer says, can we not have a 60s strip from the Gilchrist/Guild/Rae era?

The sponsor looks a bit crazy.

This was one of our first sponsors, 'Bertie Miller - invisible scarf makers'. You could wear their product with any outfit without the need to colour co-ordinate. Unfortunately, they tended to put their company name on there, spoiling the effect somewhat. Still, the player looks fine and warm for such a chilly day and that's the main thing.

Check this shirt out:

Change the red and white stripes to black and gold, and the black trim to white. minted.

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

So has it been confirmed that we are keeping the same home kit for next season?

Although this does not answer your question,I understand that the main sponsor will be the same for 2012/2013.
If so, seems unlikely EF will change the home strip.

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

Are there any plans for the 2013/14 strip?
1903 - 2013 110 years - not a traditional landmark, but other teams have celebrated 90, 110, 140 years.
75 years since we won the Scottish Cup.
Obviously there are a lot of people who will be against this as it's living in the past, which is fair enough, but a commemorative strip will probably be a good seller.
How do you upload designs (pictures) onto the forum?

Re: New Strip Next Year ??????

nothing wrong with celebrating the clubs great past and proud history id be all for a comorative strip to celebrate the cup win i like teh idea of away kit being saltires but wouldnt be keen on it been blue for obvius reasons
