Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Player of the year

I was having a look on the Sfl website and seen that Alloa are picking there player of the year.

Whats every ones thoughts?

Personally its between - Ryan Wallace , Darren Smith , Scott Durie?

Darren Smith for me. Wallace's goals have kept our season alive the but commitment and effort shown from Smith has been second to none.

Nah, can't see any of them 3 getting it - none of them play for Alloa. I think maybe Stephen May?

Has to be Wallace. First prolific scorer we've had in years. Is he on 23 goals already?

Wallace for me because of his goals but also mentions for Michael Brown and Darren Smith.

I think Wallace has to be in the lead but plenty other great contenders. Both goalkeepers, Brown and Ridgers have been brilliant, Durie and Cook have improved throughout the season. Davie White has been Mr Consistent, always quietly going about his business in an efficient manner. Darren McCormack a gem for the future. Stevie Campbell a real talent despite his injury problems. Dazza Smith - on top form right now. Robert Sloan, back from a horrendous injury has been terrific recently. Stevie Hislop, a guy who played through the pain barrier last season and has come back stronger and better against the odds. Bobby Linn, ever present, must laugh out loud at some the shite posted about him but continues to be a menace to defences all over the country. Just ask opposition fans what they think of him. Club man of the year? Div Muir. If he wasn't playing he'd be in the stand cheering us on.
I salute them all.
