Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Mike Dales

Sadly, I have been informed today that Mike Dales, a loyal supporter of East Fife for many years, passed away last Friday.
Mike had been bravely battling cancer for some considerable time.
Many visitors to this forum will fondly remember Mike, who contributed passionately to many a debate over the years. Unfortunately, his deteriorating health made his visits to the AFTN forum less frequent in recent times.
Mike's funeral will be held at Kirkcaldy Crematorium at 11:45 on Wednesday 25th April.
RIP Michael Dales.

Re: Mike Dales

Sad to here that. Mike was indeed a loyal supporter who cared deeply about the club.

RIP Mike.

Re: Mike Dales

Really sorry to hear about Mike.

I know he rubbed some people here up the wrong way with his views, but he was passionate about the team and only wanted what was best for them.

He was a diehard and travelled all over to see his black and gold heroes.

Was always fun getting in to debates with him on here and at games.

RIP Mike.

Re: Mike Dales

Sad news, spoke to him many times over the years and always good for a spot of debate on aftn.

RIP Mike.

Re: Mike Dales

Mike has been fighting illness for many years now and I'm sad to hear of his passing. Always a lovely polite, man to me and a great read (whether I agreed with him or not) on this forum.

RIP Mike.
