Away From The Numbers
All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.
The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.
This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.
Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Might as well give a few young guys a run out in a meaningless game, and also give guys who are leaving/retiring like big Hissy a chance to say cheerio to the fans.

Well I'd assume so. Maybe he'll drop to the juniors, my point was just that a few players will be leaving so Saturday will be a chance for them to say their goodbyes, whilst giving some youth players a chance to sample first team football at the same time.

Here we go, a boy makes a perfectly reasonable suggestion that boys who will most likely be leaving should get a run out to say their goodbyes and it ends up with this.

To say Hissy will drop to the juniors is just an insult to a guy who gives all he can to the team .The players we have came 1 game from the play off's for div 1 . The problems (if any ?) was with the manager not OUR players ,we have some excellent players in the squad , who will only improve given encouragement & coaching ? which people like you can't seem to GRASP .Maybe you should try supporting the team & the players ,instead of slagging guys that try their best for OUR club .I doubt you have the balls to TELL players what you post on here .So why don't YOU get a grip MATE !!!!!!!!!!!! .

Deary me, have a word with yourself mate. The boy suggested (correctly) that Saturday might be a few boys' last games and they should get to say their goodbyes. They did, now they're leaving. Really no idea why you're mashing your head off the keyboard in a rage.
As for the "Hissy to the juniors" chat, if you think he's too good for a Bo'ness, Bonnyrigg or Linlithgow, then fair enough. From what I've seen these teams are easily good enough for mid table in the third, which is probably about Hissy's level now IMO.
