Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Byrne?

Up in Conon Bridge tonight and a few locals reckon Curtis Byrne may opt for another season at Bayview - they're not sure a deal has been done with Ross County as he loved the pink sauce on the BBQ King Burgers (their words not mine!)

Re: Byrne?

Kurtis has signed with Ross County for 2012/2013.

Not according to these guys. Doesn't think he'll get games in the SPL

Here it is:
County Continue To Build SPL Squad

Stuart Kettlewell and Kurtis Byrne have become the latest players to sign contracts to keep them at Victoria Park until the end of the 2012/13 season.

Stuart joined the Staggies from Clyde in summer 2009 and has racked up over 80 appearances in his three seasons with the Club, whilst forward Kurtis has just completed his first season at Victoria Park after joining from Hibernian.

Manager Derek Adams commented, "Stuart has shown himself to be an important cog in our midfield engine this season and I know that having been playing as an amateur at Queen's Park just four years ago he appreciates just what it means to have an opportunity to test himself against the very best teams and players in the country. Kurtis is a young player with a lot of promise as well as an eye for goal, and having the distinction of scoring the first and last goals of our title winning league campaign this season I'm sure he'll be looking to build on a solid first season at the club."
