Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: Youth Players

A modern apprenticeship is a full time 2 year programme for the youths average ages between 17/18/19 yrs of age. In this program the youths will train 4 days per week, go to college 1 day per week, have tuition every week also.
It educates the players on nutrition, gym programs, tactics, and general wellbeing.
The players also go through refereeing courses, coaching in the game, first aid, etc.

None of this would be possible at a club the size of East Fife without the really hard work our main committee, coaches and volunteers, also funding from the SFA, and Government assistance. The Youth Policy having been revamped is ONLY entering its third season, it lets the fans out there see the remarkable effort made.

Lets hope the 12 young men can develop and progress to the first team, this opens up a great oppertunity for the entire club as a whole.

As a footnote these 12 full timers can be sponsored for a sum of £150.00 per player home kit or away kits available please contact Robert or myself for further info Thank you..

Re: Youth Players

Thank you for this info Brian and all the best to the 12 lads.

Re: Youth Players

As well as the 12 full time lads am sure there is a full U19s part time squad, so plenty of talent to push towards the 1st team hopefully!
