Dundee United and Hearts have started the ball rolling by announcing 'no' to newco in the SPL. Every decent fan should now be pushing our boards to say no to newco in the sfl.

I'd say they should apply to the Juniors.
SPL and SFL clubs will almost certainly want nothing to do with them.

Newco should start in the 3rd division at best. Well done to Hearts and Dundee United for going public with there decision way before the vote on the 4th of July. It's crazy that the Newco are allowed to vote themselves in and it would be a very sad day for Scottish football if the Newco remained in the SPL for financial reasons.

Aberdeen have also come out (so to speak) and will vote against a newco Rangers joining the SPL. I think Hibs have been making similar noises. That would be four already so only one more required.

Is it not Rangers OLDCO who have the vote? I feel strongly that Scottish football should make a clear distinction between the two and refuse to recognise any continuity between the them. They were quick enough to leave their creditors in the lurch after cheating their way to God knows how many major honours therefore the old RFC's history has also died with them.
The sectarian signing policy, the disgraceful scenes in Barcelona and Manchester also cease to exist.
They are an ex football club etc

They are a new club and only because they are keeping the name Rangers does it confuse things. If they had been renamed as Govan Giants for example, they would have exactly the same standing as Gala Fairydean or Huntly in terms of them needing to apply to be accepted to the SFL. If accepted, any of these clubs would have to start in the bottom division the same as Inverness, Ross County, Elgin city, Peterhead and Annan have in the last 20 years or so. Why should a new club like Rangers be any different ?

THINK THEY SHOULD START IN DIV 3 AS MOST RANGERS FANS WANT TO ANYWAY ! AS LONG AS WE AVOID GOING DOWN AND MISS THEM ON WAY UP !

You do realise that if they do start again in the 3rd division, there is a strong possibility that our unique achievements in winning the Scottish & League cups could be equalled and superceded!

Why do they need to start anywhere, why not vote no to the newco altogether?? No one likes them they don't care or so the song goes.....well close the door on the way out then bye bye and take your baggage with you!!

They should be banned from Scottish and League Cup for 3 years too.

We're going to lose that uniqueness anyway if they get stripped of titles and cups. Queen of the South would get given a Scottish Cup win.

There'll be a Scottish League place up for grabs, and any club affiliated to the SFA will be eligible to join providing their facilities are up to scratch.
The newco Rangers should have to apply along with any other interested parties, for example Spartans. Failing that, the club would be able to apply for membership of the South of Scotland League or the East of Scotland League - two closest Senior 'non-league' leagues. As for application to join a Junior League, they'd have to apply for membership of the SJFA first.
This is the only fair scenario in my eyes.
(BTW - personally, I'd like the same to happen to the other half of the OF as well)

Looks like we'll be facing the knuckle scraping hordes in the league at some point in the future. Maybe it's time to resurrect the terracing idea to screw every last penny out of the bassas!

Knowing our luck we'll build a terracing and get relegated at the same time as they're coming up a league!

It is getting too close to the start of the season to start mucking up fixture lists, that have been published, and also the question of who should replace Rangers in the SPL Even Paul Sheerin came out with some nonsense about how Arbroath should be promoted from Div 2, as they finished second in the league, despite not making the play off final.
Best way is to have an SPL of eleven clubs with each club awarded a 3-0 victory for their fixture v Club 12.
1st Div Champs automatically promoted to top tier, and runners up play off v 11th club in SPL for promotion. The other divisions compete as normal, which will leave a vacancy in div 3 for start of 2013/14 season. All interested parties know that they have a year to prepare for this vacancy. In the meantime The New Rangers can apply for whatever league will have them.
